Dear Family and Friends,   Week #76 3/4/24-3/10/24 Last Monday evening we had a great FHE with the seniors. The Lesson by Elder and Sister Heath was sharing experiences from our lives where we know that Jesus Christ lives, he loves us, and is mindful of us. It was a fun spiritual experience. We heard some amazing stories. I’m grateful for the many times the Holy Ghost has born witness to me of the truthfulness of Joseph Smith as a prophet, that he saw Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I’m grateful for the testimony from the Holy Ghost also, that the Book of Mormon is true and is the Word of God. I’m also grateful for the powerful experiences I had when I was present, and Harold B. Lee walked into the Hart Building on Ricks College Campus, and I knew by the power of the Holy Ghost that he was a prophet of God also. It was really cool when I was on my mission and a friend attending Ricks College wrote me a letter and shared that same kind of experience when Spencer W. Kimball...

It was enough to fill ten of our bowls back home! Dear Family and Friends,  Week #75 2/26/24-3/3/24 We headed for Bacolod on Negros Monday morning. We had an early lunch in Toledo with Elder and Sister Webb before getting on the ferry to San Carlos. After arriving in San Carlos, we met Elder and Sister Cary. We had packages for them and for some of the Elders and Sisters in their zone. Then off over the mountain to Bacolod. It was the most peaceful, beautiful drive we have experienced here in the Philippines. Very little traffic and roads wider than normal. The scenery was beautiful, and I could actually look at it quite often because of the lack of traffic and narrow roads. We arrived in Paglaum Village at about 4:30 and met Elder Jonas Bird, Zack and Krista’s son, where the Elders in his zone were playing b-ball. He and his companion, Elder Pope from American Fork, Utah, cleaned up and then we took them out for dinner at the Viking Buffet. Dear Family and Friends,  Week #74 2/19/24-2/25/24 Good job, Mylie in basketball. Sad that you lost to Pinedale and have an injury, stress fracture, your mom knows about that one. You can beat Pinedale if you play them again. Great win against Lyman on Senior Night. Good luck this week at regionals. Congratulations to Kimball and Tel on a great wrestling season. Kimball taking first at 4A state with a dominating tournament and pinning his kid in the Championship match. Tel also dominating all week and winning his second state championship with a 11-0 score in the championship match. We are proud of these young men and the way they conduct themselves in victory and defeat. It is nice to end the season with victories!! We enjoyed having Sister Hogan, Sister DeLoso, and Sister Carillo for dinner on Tuesday. Sister Hogan is from Syracuse, UT, and has been here for two transfers now. Dear Family and Friends,  Week #73 2/12/23-2/18/24 On Monday we had our typical Humanitarian Team Committee meeting and that lasted over two hours and then another zoom meeting that long in the afternoon. We worked on the Cadiz Hospital Project. They have requested 40 items. Some are very expensive. They are a Level 1 hospital. Hospitals are rated here from 1-3 with rural health units below the level 1 and Tertiary Hospitals as the top tier hospitals above level 3. The Cadiz hospital is a large hospital, and they want to move up to a level 2. As a result, they are asking for a lot of items to try and get them to that level. However, we don’t help them move up, we just help them at the level they are at. As a result, we removed 8 items off the list and some were very expensive. We went to bed early and then we were up at 11:30 p.m. We headed to the airport at midnight for a 2:00 a.m. flight to Manila. Then a 4-hour layover and then a flight to Catarman on Samar.
