Week #75 Pictures

Some pictures of our trip, on the ferry, with Elder Bird and Elder Pope, breakfast with Arman Mapa in Bacolod - who helped us with Tres Reyes Solar – a friend of the Peters, at the school we visited, and then with Clyda’s bowl of soup when we had dinner with the Carys in San Carlos. It was enough to fill ten of our bowls back home!

Extra Photos of the Elders for Dinner, Elder Ma?? and Elder Jones, the Temple, Clyda and Annette walking,Bishop Esparaus a temple engineer and some of the grounds crew where four of them have been here the entire time we have been her and the one in green has returned after being gone for a year. They change contractors each year and it is up to the contractor who he hires. And some pictures of the market.

Dear Family and Friends,  Week #33 5/8-5/14 HAPPY MOTHERS DAY!! I’m grateful for a wonderful mother. She had to put up with a lot from me. Thank goodness she had 9 other kids who were good. I’m grateful for all of you ladies on this email list and recognize all of you as wonderful mothers. As President Nelson said, God’s work of creation wasn’t complete until his final and greatest creation took place, Eve, the first mother. I agree! My greatest desire for the young women that I had the privilege to coach was for them to become great wives and mothers. I wanted them to be good at the sport that I coached, but that would dwindle off and not mean anything, but being a mother will last for eternity. What a wonderful thing. As I watch my dear wife and her interactions with our children, I marvel at her great relationship with each of them. Thanks for being wonderful mothers, and all of you are!! Dear Family and Friends,  Bonus Week #7 Because of correspondence with Burke I have some more to share. But first I want to share a couple of pictures we took in the north part of Panay. When we went to the turnover in the mountains a little ways out of Roxas we had an extra 30 minutes to go to some water falls. It was pretty so I thought I would share. Burke told me a cool story related to the Peters couple that worked for him in Nebraska. I had heard part of this story before and Tami is aware of some of it also. The couple in this story, Jean and Harry Younkins, lived in Tami’s ward. Burke sent me these two pieces in two separate emails as I asked a question. Glad you got to meet the Peters. 24 Oct. 2022 Week #4: Back to Lesson Plans and Vouchers

Dear Family and Friends, It has been another great week. We have been on a vacation with tour guides. When they head back to Idaho everything might come to a screeching halt. I might only have about one paragraph to write next week. At the stake conference I talked about last week I mentioned the choir. It was like a tabernacle choir with all the ladies having the same dresses. All the brothers wore dark pants, white shirts, and all had the same tie which matched the women’s dresses. In both the adult session, on Sunday morning, and the general session, they sang a hymn before the conference started. Then a member of the stake presidency welcomed us, etc. Then the choir sang again, opening prayer and speakers. They would do another special number. Then we would have a standing rest hymn. That was the only time the congregation sang. The choir would sing the closing hymn. So the choir sang four numbers in each session, eight total, and they were not easy numbers.
